To the CJP Community,
This week, the CJP community had the privilege of welcoming several visitors who shared their knowledge, artistry, and cultural traditions with our students.
As part of the exciting project to replace the school-front murals, two of the three contributing artists—Phoenix Ning and Tyler Hochhalter—were on site, collaborating with students. They shared their artistic inspiration, creative process, and the skills that bring their mural designs to life. The third artist, Kalum Teke Dan, will visit later in March to continue this meaningful work with our students.
In addition to our guest artists, we were honored to collaborate with Indigenous storytellers Adrian and Albert Goulet, who have been helping the CJP community explore the concept of belonging. Through their drumming and storytelling, they celebrate and uphold the rich traditions of Indigenous peoples. While both Adrian and Albert are working with our school, this week’s visit featured Albert, who engaged students in exploring the origins of these powerful stories. Through the rhythmic beat of the drum and traditional songs, he deepened students’ understanding of the cultural roots that make CJP such a special and inclusive community.
March 2025 Parent-Teacher Conferences
I’d like to take a moment to remind you about the message that went out to families on March 3 with regards to the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences:
Dear CBE Families,
With labour action by CUPE Local 40 members limiting access to CBE schools after hours, the decision has been made to move March parent/teacher conferences online.
Here is what you need to know:
- If your child’s school has not yet scheduled March conferences, these will be booked online.
- If your child’s school has already scheduled March conferences, you will receive an email confirming your date and time and providing a Microsoft Teams link for your online conferences.
If your child’s school has conferences scheduled beyond March 2025, further communication will be provided if any changes are required.
Updates regarding current labour action can be found on the CBE web page.
*** Please look for a stand-alone message with important details about CJP Parent Teacher Conferences early next week. This message will also include information about the Scholastic Book Fair that coincides with the conferences.
School Planning Survey
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees.
- The survey is open from February 26, 2025, to March 11, 2025.
- Please click here to complete the survey
