Hamptons Community School Grade Configuration and Designation Changes

Due to continued growth in Calgary, there is a need to balance enrolment at Calgary Board of Education (CBE) schools. For this reason, regular program students attending Grades 5 and 6 residing in the Hamptons community will be re-designated from Captain John Palliser School to The Hamptons School. This change will allow students from the Hamptons community to remain at the same elementary school until junior high. These changes will be phased in over two years. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, The Hamptons School will expand by one grade per year. Please read the notice for more information.

Regular Program Changes at Captain John Palliser School

Due to continued enrolment growth in the regular program at Captain John Palliser School, an overflow school will be established for this school year (2023-24), and a designation change will be made for the 2024-25 school year.

  • Effective immediately, any new regular program registrations for Captain John Palliser School from the Brentwood community, west of Northland Dr. NW (also known as Northland Village), that cannot be accommodated will be overflowed to Dr. E.W. Coffin School for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
  • Effective for the 2024-25 school year and beyond, regular program students residing in Northland Village will be re-designated from Captain John Palliser School to Dr. E.W. Coffin School.

Regular Program

What is the Regular Program?

The Regular Program spans from kindergarten through grade 12, providing a comprehensive educational experience. In alignment with provincial standards, our curriculum not only integrates academics, arts, and physical education but also emphasizes tailoring the learning adventure to individual strengths and interests. We're all about inclusivity, providing special education resources to support diverse learning needs. Beyond the classroom, students dive into a world of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, music, and community service, making every day exciting. We believe in teamwork, actively encouraging parental involvement through events like parent-teacher conferences, creating a collaborative and supportive educational atmosphere.

Alternative Program

Learning to Fit Each Student's Needs and Interests

Alternative programs provide a distinct educational experience by focusing on specific subjects or languages and engaging students with advanced learning methods or in unique classroom environments. These programs are designed to personalize education to meet students' learning needs and goals. Additionally, some alternative programs may be more flexible regarding schedule or structure, giving students greater control over their learning. Parental involvement is highly encouraged through activities such as parent-teacher conferences and school events.

Meeting

We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to non-Canadian students who are eager to embark on an enriching educational journey with us.
