To the CJP Community

It was a short but eventful week. The student Read-a-thon is in full swing, with many completed bingo/reading cards rolling in. Despite a few minor Blue Day disruptions, our noon hour clubs continued to run. Wednesday’s assembly was a special highlight, celebrating our collective efforts in fostering a sense of belonging within our school community. A standout moment was the kindergarten alphabet fashion show – an absolute showstopper!  Meanwhile, we wrapped up important tasks in the front office, including completing the Montessori lottery for next year’s enrollment. To end the week, our teaching staff spent the past two days at Teacher’s Convention, engaging in professional development. This invaluable time allows us to learn, grow, and bring fresh ideas back to the classroom in support of our students and families.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for the delicious snacks in the staff room on Wednesday. Your generosity and thoughtfulness mean so much to our teaching and support staff, and we deeply appreciate your support.

Keeping an eye on the forecast, it looks like the colder morning weather will linger for at least some of next week. Temperatures will be mild enough towards midday though that students will be able to enjoy outdoor recess and lunch breaks, so we kindly ask families to ensure their child is dressed appropriately for the winter conditions. Please make sure they are bundled up in warm layers and have all the necessary gear, such as hats, gloves, and scarves, to stay comfortable during their time outside. Thank you for your help in keeping our students warm and ready for learning.

With the continued winter weather, I would like to issue another friendly reminder to all families about the importance of being mindful and considerate when picking up your children from school. To help keep things running smoothly and safely, we kindly ask that families:

  • Avoid blocking driveways and alleyways on Northmount Drive, Batchelor Crescent, and the alley adjacent to the school playground.
  • Keep crosswalks clear to ensure pedestrian safety.
  • Be aware that winter weather can affect bus schedules, meaning bus zones may be occupied for longer periods than usual.

Thank you for your cooperation in making our school zone and neighborhood a safer, more welcoming place for everyone. We deeply appreciate your continued support.
