This letter is to inform you that the Montessori program boundary will be changing for Captain John Palliser School and Killarney School. This change aims to improve access to Montessori program schools for northeast and east Calgary students.  

Effective for the 2024-25 school year, the Montessori program for Northeast and East Calgary communities, as outlined in the map attached, will be designated to:

• Captain John Palliser School – 1484 Northmount Dr. NW Calgary, AB T2L 0G6

No changes for all other students:

Students attending Killarney School or Captain John Palliser School who do not reside in the impacted areas of northeast and east Calgary will remain at their current school for the Montessori program.

Students in the re-designated area currently enrolled at Killarney School will be allowed to remain at Killarney School or move to Captain John Palliser School and will be contacted by the principal to explain the changes.

How will students get to school?

Students are eligible for transportation to their designated school if they live beyond the walk zone and have enough students under the congregated stop model. Please note that students attending the Montessori Program will access congregated bus stops. Families can register for transportation using MyCBE. You can find more information about transportation on the Calgary Board of Education website.
